“We work in the field of tumor immunology and rely heavily on the intensive use of various cell cultures. To characterize different cell lines or newly generated mutants, we use cellular assays… such as proliferation, cytotoxicity, migration, and invasion. All of these assays can be performed in the Cellwatcher—some of them even in combination. Especially in time-critical experiments, it is often tedious, if not impossible, to determine the optimal measurement time point precisely. With the Cellwatcher, we have the ability to generate a continuous series of measurements and thus reliably capture optimal measurement windows. In addition to the improved data quality resulting from the incremental measurement series, the use of the Cellwatcher also leads to significant cost savings. The straightforward and therefore time-saving handling contributes substantially to this. Moreover, in many cases we can dispense with expensive reagents and additional materials. Our collaboration with PHIO has always been excellent. The direct connection to the university is clearly evident and is reflected both in flexible solutions—technical as well as administrative—and in the professional expertise with which we are supported in experimental design and further applications. Support for the web application is very accessible and responds quickly to inquiries. From our perspective, the greatest advantage lies in the savings of time and costs, particularly when establishing new cell line–specific experimental approaches. In addition, the continuous recording of measurement data enables us to establish standardized approaches for follow-up experiments.”
